Bill & Lyn DeGaris first opened their law firm in Millicent in 1976 and, since that time, have acted on behalf of clients right across the Limestone Coast. Eventually their practice moved to Mount Gambier and, in 2011, DeGaris Lawyers moved to our current location at 19 Penola Road, Mount Gambier, and into one of the area’s most outstanding State Heritage buildings.
After 44 years of trading, Bill & Lyn DeGaris decided to semi-retire and, as from October 2020, DeGaris Lawyers has operated as a partnership between Bill DeGaris and Donna Jaeschke (formerly Edwards).
Donna has been at DeGaris Lawyers since December 2009 and has been an Associate Partner since 2013. During this time, she has been heavily involved in Practice Management while also building her own legal expertise and following. Donna now continues her own legal practice, while also managing the day-to-day business of the practice.
Both Bill and Donna are extremely proud of the reputation of trust which DeGaris Lawyers have been able to build and are pleased to see DeGaris Lawyers as one of the most predominant legal and conveyancing firms in the Limestone Coast.
The DeGaris Lawyers staff are all experienced and highly competent in their fields and the long-term nature of both the staff and clients of DeGaris Lawyers is a true testament to the practice.
DeGaris Lawyers look forward to continuing their client relationships well into the future, with some families having relied on the practice now into the third and fourth generations, and to developing new client relationships.
Designed by local architect JT Topham and originally opened in May 1903 the Victorian Italiante structure with it’s distinct white limestone and red dolomite façade, has been DeGaris Lawyers’ home since December 2011, continuing it’s century long history of housing services for the community.
